David is one of the top Intellectual

intellectual property by Chambers Guide to the Legal
Profession.
Having spent over 25 years in the field, David has
built a global network of commercial and legal contacts
and is a trusted advisor to leading companies in the
world as well as guiding many small and medium sized
companies in the management of their intellectual property.
David
has served as a NATO fellow in 1979 and has been a
Research Fellow at
the Max Planck Institute
for Intellectual Property and Competition Law in Munich,
Germany for two years. He founded Llewelyn Zietman
in 1994 and grew it into a 25 lawyer firm before joining
White & Case in 1999 where he currently practices.
David
is Professor of Intellectual Property Law at King’s
College, London and has published and lectured extensively.
He is also External Director
of the IP Academy, Singapore. He co-authored a leading
UK and European Union professional textbook Kerly’s
Law of Trade Marks and Trade Names (14th Ed. 2005)
and jointly authored Cornish & Llewelyn on Intellectual
Property: Patents, Copyright, Trade Marks and Allied
Rights (6th ed. 2007). David holds an L.L.B. from Southampton
University and a Bachelor of Civil Law from Oxford
University, UK.
Charles
Chow

Charles has more than 15 years
of experience in the banking and financial industry.
He started his career in United Overseas Bank followed
by Chase Manhattan Bank as a credit analyst where he
was trained in all aspects of transactional risk analysis
such as corporate lending, foreign exchange, trade
financing, project syndication and investment banking.
Charles was headhunted to become the founding Investment
Research Director of J Ballas & Co, a Singapore-based
regional stock broking firm. He spent more than 10
years at the firm, assuming additional roles in corporate
finance, proprietary trading, Malaysian market deal
origination and business development. During this period,
he developed expertise at promoting Asian-listed companies,
taking them for frequent global investment road shows
in London, New York and other global financial centres
for equity capital raising. Charles grew with the firm
and saw its merger with Citigroup to become Vickers
Ballas & Co and eventually the sale to DBS Bank
to become DBS Vickers in the S$800 million deal.
In 2004
he relocated to Shanghai to become the regional advisor
to AFT Trust, a regional financial private
equity group.
Charles holds a Bachelor of Commerce (1st Class Honours)
from the University of Auckland, Australia.

Jeremy currently concentrates
on selecting and developing the investments for the IPR-X group.
He covers the full range of industries from media
and communications, beverages, bioinformatics and
engineering developments. He was heavily involved
in the purchase of the intellectual property rights
to Pinky and Perky for IPR-X UK,
the beloved singing piglet puppets from the UK media
scene in the 1960s. Jeremy’s forte is a hands-on
approach to investment and management in partnership
with investee companies.
An accomplished entrepreneur, Jeremy has successfully developed, owned and
managed commercial, residential and light industrial properties in Europe.
Prior to this he managed a portfolio of investments spanning a range of industries
from electronic engineering to medical and pharmaceuticals while working for
a private equity firm in London after obtaining his Masters in Business Studies
from the London Business School.
Jeremy also worked as a naval architect and marine seismologist after his graduation
from the University of Southhampton, UK, (B.A. Ship Science, Engineering) before
taking off for Latin America where he spent a year teaching jungle tribes the
art of automechanics for Oxfam International, a worldwide charity.
Ng Lyn

Lyn is an experienced negotiator having served as
Head of International Agreements in the Singapore
Economic Development Board. She oversaw the investment
negotiations of bilateral free trade/investment guarantee
agreements between Singapore and a number of countries
such as China, India and Australia among others.
She has also served in other capacities in the Singapore
government most recently as the Deputy Director of
the IP Academy where she was responsible for business
development and the overall day to day management. As a trained lawyer specializing
in corporate finance and securities law, Lyn has
had ample experience
in the legal as well as financial services industry.
After started out in 1993 as a lawyer with Allen & Gledhill,
she worked in the corporate finance divisions of
Vickers Ballas & Co Pte Ltd (now DBS Vickers),
Citigroup Investment Bank and eventually as AVP,
Corporate Finance in Salomon Smith Barney where she
was primarily involved in equity capital market transactions.
She successfully managed the IPOs of several companies
(both local and foreign) on the SGX/HKSE/NYSE, private
placements, takeovers, mergers and acquisitions and
the provision of general corporate advice to both
listed and private companies from diverse industries
ranging from manufacturing, telecommunications, printing,
ecommerce, electronics to transportation companies.
She holds a BA (Hons) in Jurisprudence (Law) from
Oxford University, UK. She is also a Barrister-at-Law
(Middle Temple) and an advocate and solicitor of
the Supreme Court of Singapore.

Sharon focuses particularly on the evaluation and
selection of investments in this region. In addition,
she carries out the day-to-day management of the
development work with the investee companies.
She has an extensive background in working for the
Singapore government ranging from defence-related
positions to tourism. In the latter, her work has
been in research and development of technology for
the tourism trade including the setting up of pioneer
test projects with industry partners. Her work with
the Singapore Tourism board has also involved the
development of the hotel and spa industry in Singapore
both in terms of overall policies such as land policy
as well as schemes to attract and retain well known
multinational hotel management regional headquarters
in Singapore. Her work with the then-fledging spa
industry in Singapore paved the way for niche spa
players to enter the industry in Singapore. She has
also served as a journalist for one of the major
national dailies in Singapore covering political
news in Singapore for a year.
She was educated in the University of Illinois at
Urbana-Champaign (M.Sc. Policy Economics) and in
the University of Oxford, UK, (BA (Hons.) in Philosophy,
Politics and Economics). She also has a Graduate
Certificate in Intellectual Property Law from the
National University of Singapore.
